GOLDHOFER RA 4 TOWER ADAPTER (Tower adapter set for wind turbine tower sections — 90 t per adapter, total capacity 180 t) The Goldhofer RA 4 is a tower adapter set for transporting wind turbine tower sections. It is mounted on modular Goldhofer vehicles, for example a 7+9 combination (7-axle semi low-loader with gooseneck plus THP/SL-L 3+4 combination, and a 9-axle trailing unit THP/SL-L 4+5 combination). The adapters grip the tower section by its inner flange and lift, lower and carry it in a free-swinging arrangement, which allows long tower sections to be moved with high ground clearance and full hydraulic control.
